Do you practice infection control?

Hart Dental practices the most up to date infection control procedures in accordance with the Australian Dental Association Infection Control Standards and Guidelines. This includes protective eyewear, disposable masks and gloves, instrumentation sterilized utilizing the latest hospital grade steam autoclaves with all surfaces and laboratory work decontaminated according to accepted protocols. All instruments are tracked after sterilisation procedures.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic we have also introduced extra infection control measures, including increased disinfecting frequency of shared spaces (waiting room/bathroom) and additional PPE worn by staff (higher level face masks, face shields, eye protection, surgical gowns, and hair nets).

I lost a tooth and want to fill the gap. What are my options?

Well, you have quite a few actually.

Tooth replacement is an issue that all of us will face at some point in time.

One option is to do nothing – for example, wisdom teeth at the very back of your bite do not have an opposing tooth and are often hidden from view.

However, if your missing tooth is visible and you want to chew well, then we have the following options:

Dentures – these are a removable, affordable, healthy and aesthetic solution.

Bridges – these are fixed on to the neighbouring teeth and look great. However, their longevity depends on the health of the teeth that support it. Also, they are more costly that dentures.

Implants – these provide an excellent way of filling a gap. A screw-like part is inserted in the bone by a specialist. Hart Dental will then provide you with a crown that is fitted on top of the implant. Implants are a very good option as they leave the neighbouring teeth intact, and so their longevity is not compromised by a decaying tooth beside it.

Does Hart Dental do smile makeovers?

Yes we do. We offer a range of treatments to tailor your makeover to your individual look.

I’d like to have a lip filler, but I’m worried it might hurt, given most injectors only use topical cream. Is this the case?

No. You can relax. Our Lip Filler treatment is PAIN FREE. We use local anaesthetic and expert techniques that only dental surgeons practice to sculpt your lips.

I had braces when I was younger, but my teeth have moved – is there anything I can do?

There certainly is. As Certified Invisalign providers, Hart Dental can assess you and provide treatment to realign your teeth. If we feel there may be other reasons behind the movement, we may refer you to our trusted orthodontist.

I have experienced jaw pain often and it can cause headaches – is there anything I can do?

Absolutely. We are happy to help you. TMD conditions often need a multi-pronged approach. This might include a night guard, pain relief, anti-inflammatory medication, muscle relaxants, physiotherapy or specialist treatment of structural changes.
